Assemblywoman reads "Grace for President' to celebrate Women's History Month

CAMDEN -- Assemblywoman Patricia Egan Jones (D-Camden/Gloucester) of the Fifth Legislative District visited local schools on March 22 to celebrate Women's History Month.

The Assemblywoman visited three classes at Avon Elementary School in Barrington and the second grade girls at Hope Community Charter School in Camden. She read the book "Grace For President," by Kelly DiPucchio and Leuyen Pham, about a little girl who runs for class president after learning there has never been a woman president, and who becomes president of the United States as an adult at the end of the story.

Assemblywoman Jones received a copy of "Grace for President" from Rutgers' Center for American Women and Politics along with a letter asking women elected officials to read the story to local students in March to celebrate Women's History Month. The Assemblywoman ordered a second copy and donated it to the library of two schools instead of one.

The Assemblywoman hopes that by meeting a woman elected official and reading a story about a little girl running for president, students will be inspired to dream big and reach for their goals in the future.
