CINNAMINSON TOWNSHIP -- A Camden man is in custody Thursday after he allegedly kidnapped another man and attempted to force him to withdraw cash from a township bank.
Police said 52-year-old Tyrone Jackson was caught however, when the victim snuck a hint to a bank teller.
The incident occurred at the Wells Fargo Bank on Route 130 at about 9:13 a.m., when police received a call that there was a man being held against his will.
Jackson had allegedly forced the victim to travel to the bank, although he did not display a weapon.
When the victim was sent inside to withdraw funds, police said he was able to write down a note saying he was being held against his will and give it to the bank teller.
Police arrived on scene while the victim was still inside the bank and took Jackson into custody.
It was not clear if the two men knew each other, police said.
Jackson was charged with kidnapping, criminal restraint and attempted robbery. He remains in Burlington County Jail in lieu of $200,000.
