WINSLOW TWP. -- Police say a woman robbed a gas station in the township on Sunday afternoon, then flagged down two strangers who were driving past the scene to make her getaway.

Katie L. Wilson, 31, of Waterford Works, approached the Valero gas station at 104 White Horse Pike on foot at about 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon, township police said. She approached the attendant, 58-year-old Francis Erssah, with her hand under her sweatshirt to make it look as though she was holding a gun. Wilson then demanded money, at which point, Erssa told police, he noticed that she was holding a knife in her other hand.

Wilson then fled on foot with about $600 in cash. As Erssah chased her, a yellow Nissan pulled over to the side of the road and picked her up. Officers stopped the vehicle, and discovered that the driver and a passenger were not involved in the robbery. Rather, investigators said, Wilson had flagged the driver down and told the people in the car that Erssah had just assaulted her.

When she was taken into custody, police say they found Oxycodone pills on Wilson. She was charged with first-degree armed robbery and drug possession, and held on $250,000 bail.
