One set of human remains was found on April 23 in the Cooper River, and another found on May 1 in the Delaware.

PENNSAUKEN -- For the second time in less than two weeks, human remains have been discovered along the shores of a river in the township.

Pennsauken Township police responded to the Buckeye Terminal, located on DeRousse Avenue near the Betsy Ross Bridge, just after 8 p.m. on Sunday evening.

Capt. Michael Probasco said Monday that a "badly decomposed" body had washed up on the shoreline of the Delaware River. Pennsauken police, along with the Camden County Prosecutor's Office, New Jersey State Police and the Coast Guard are all investigating.

Just over a week ago, on April 23, a volunteer at an outdoor cleanup event was picking up litter on the shore near Admiral Wilson Boulevard along the Cooper River. As they worked, the volunteer picked up what they thought was an old bottle. Instead, NBC Philadelphia reported, they pulled a skull from the mud.

Both incidents remain under investigation.
