18-year-old Rafael Vicente died after he was found suffering from gunshot wounds inside a crashed vehicle.

CAMDEN -- A 23-year-old city man has been charged with killing an 18-year-old city man who was found suffering from fatal gunshot wounds inside a crashed car, according to authorities.

The Camden County Prosecutor's Office said Clarence Green is facing one charge of first-degree murder in the March 22 death of Rafael Vicente.

Vicente was found suffering from gunshot wounds inside a vehicle that crashed on the 1200 block of Haddon Avenue at about 8:45 p.m. Police were initially drawn to the scene after its ShotSpotter system -- technology that uses sound equipment to alert police to gunshots in the city -- picked up multiple gunshots being fired near the 1300 block of Kaighns Avenue.

Vicente was taken to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:55 p.m. His death was the fourth homicide in the city in 2016, a total that has now reached 16. Seven people were shot to death in the city in April, including four in two different double homicides, and four have been killed by gunshot wounds in May.

Green is already in custody at a state prison for a parole violation, according to the prosecutor's office.
