Woman arrested after going to Walmart, leaving child home

A woman was arrested for leaving her three-year-old child home to go shopping at WalMart.

RUNNEMEDE -- A woman was arrested after Runnemede Police responded to a call that three-year-old child was left home alone, police say. 

On Friday, May 13, Runnemede Police Officer Jeffery Wooton responded to a residence located on the 300 block of Shisler Circle. According to a release from the police department, Wooton discovered that the mother of the child, Lauren Pylant, had left the child alone in the home asleep while she went to WalMart located on Route 47 in Deptford. 

The release states that Pylant was arrested upon returning home and was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. She was taken to the Camden County Jail where she is being held on $100,000 bail. 

The child was unharmed and was taken into custody by Division of Child Protection and Permanency, police say.
