The suspect was allegedly cutting copper pipes in a house when he saw police arrive.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP -- A Sicklerville man is facing burglary charges Thursday after police said they found him hiding out in the attic of a home where he was attempting to steal copper pipes.

Police said 38-year-old Wilson Feliciano, of Mango Court, was arrested Wednesday when officers responded to a report someone was inside a residence and spotted Feliciano through a window at about 4:30 p.m.

Police reported seeing Feliciano using an electric tool to cut copper pipes, but he fled to the home's attic when he saw officers arrive. Police surrounded the residence and attempted to call Feliciano outside. When he didn't respond, officers searched both floors of the home and located the attic door in a bedroom closet.

Feliciano turned himself in after police spent several minutes trying to call him down. An electric saw and pipes were found at the scene.

The investigation into the crime led to the arrest of Feliciano's accomplice who left the home before police arrived, 35-year-old John Paul Dunn also of Mango Court, police said. He was charged with conspiracy, while Feliciano was charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools and resisting arrest.

Both were released pending a court appearance.
