Engine troubles interfered with the return trip to South Jersey.
PHILADELPHIA -- Engine troubles prompted a Camden-bound blimp to make an emergency landing Friday near I-95, according to CBS3.
The blimp owned by Air Science and Bostik was flying approximately one mile north of the Ben Franklin Bridge around 6:30 p.m. when pilot Trevor Thompson detected engine failure, according to the report.
This was Thompson's third trip over the city that day and he planned on returning to the Salvation Army Kroc Community Center, in Camden, to land. According to the report, wind pushed the stricken balloon from possibly landing in a field to coming down in the city's Fishtown section.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating. Neither Thompson nor a passenger were injured during the landing, the report adds.
