St. John Paul II 7th grade student to compete in History Bee finals in Chicago

The History Bee tests knowledge of a wide range of historical topics

STRATFORD --  St. John Paul II Regional School seventh grade student, Jake Robbins, qualified for the National History Bee finals in Chicago on June 9. The National History Bee is an academic competition for elementary and middle school students that tests knowledge of a wide range of historical topics.

Jake competed against 19 other students in an Oral History Bee at St. John Paul II Regional School Jake then moved on to the Online Qualifying round with nine other students. Jake was one of the highest Online Qualifying Exam scorers among 39 regions.

Jake competed in the Regional Finals at The Friends Central School, in Philadelphia on April 27 with three St. John Paul II students. Jake's score was high enough that that National History Bee invited him to go to Chicago on June 9 to compete in the finals.

 Mrs. Cardillo, middle school social studies teacher at Sr. John Paul II said, "Jake said he didn't really study for the Bee, but has always been interested in and loves history!"
