An altered airsoft handgun and hollow-point bullets were discovered, police said.
GLOUCESTER TWP. -- Two Camden County men are facing drug and weapons possession charges after township police allegedly found marijuana, an airsoft handgun and hollow-point bullets inside their car.
It was just before 3:30 a.m. Monday when Gloucester Township police responded to the Millbridge Gardens Apartments for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, officers allegedly detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle Marquis V. Smith, 24, of Pennsauken, and Isaiah M. Morgan, 21, of Camden, were in.
Police reportedly saw a black handgun inside the vehicle as well, although it turned out to be an airsoft weapon with its orange tip having been painted black. Five vials of marijuana and a backpack -- allegedly containing 99 vials and 95 clear plastic baggies of marijuana -- were also discovered by police.
Both and Smith and Morgan were sent to the Camden County Jail in default of bail.
Smith is facing charges of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS); possession of a CDS, more than 50 grams of marijuana in this case; possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of hollow-point bullets.
Morgan was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of an imitation firearm.
