The Miss New Jersey pageant will take place this week in Ocean City. 30 women are competing for the crown.
It's pageant week in New Jersey.
Lindsey Giannini, an aspiring sports reporter from Hammonton, has held the Miss New Jersey title for the past year, but this weekend she will hand her crown to one of 30 women competing to be 2016's Miss New Jersey.
The 2016 pageant will officially kick off Wednesday with the annual Miss New Jersey Parade at 7 p.m. on the Ocean City Boardwalk.
Preliminary events will take place Thursday and Friday with talent and swimsuit competitions. This year's competitors have talents ranging from singing and dancing to martial arts and comedic reading.
Miss New Jersey's final competition will take place Saturday at 7 p.m. where Miss New Jersey 2016 will be crowned.
The winner of Miss New Jersey will go on to represent the state in the Miss America Pageant, which will take place in Atlantic City in September.
