The 35-year-old man remains in critical condition at Cooper University Hospital.

HADDON TOWNSHIP -- Authorities now know the identity of a man who was critically injured when he was struck by a vehicle in the township just after midnight on Saturday.

The Camden County Prosecutor's Office said 35-year-old Felemone Negrete-Ponce, of Camden, is the hit-and-run victim who was struck on the Black Horse Pike near Pershing Avenue while he was riding his bike at about 12:05 a.m.

The office had asked for the public's help in tracking down the man's identity as he remained in critical condition at Cooper University Hospital.

A 68-year-old Haddon Heights man, Richard Bennett, has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident with serious bodily injury and endangering an injured victim in connection with the accident.

Bennett turned up at the Haddon Heights police department at 6 a.m. Saturday and told police he thought he had hit someone with his vehicle while driving on the pike. He was released from custody after posting bail. The amount was not specified by authorities Tuesday.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Camden County Prosecutor's Office Det. Sgt. John Hunsinger at 856-365-3239, Haddon Township Det. Sgt. Joseph Johnston at 856-833-6207 or email information anonymously to ccpotips@ccprosecutor.org
