The deadly stabbing took place at the Inland Estates in Hamilton Township

MAYS LANDING -- A Camden man pleaded guilty on Thursday to aggravated manslaughter in connection with the stabbing and killing of a Hamilton Township man, according to Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain.

Richard L. Ferrera was arrested and charged with murder on May 7, 2015 -- eight months after the death of William R. Strock, 41, of the Inland Estates mobile park on the Black Horse Pike.

Police, rescue and paramedics responded to a 911 call in August 2014 and when they arrived, they found Strock lying on the ground, bleeding from an apparent stab wound to his torso. Strock was later pronounced dead at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.

Ferrera, then 49, of the 600 block of Market Street in Camden was arrested at the Atlantic County Justice Facility where he was being held for an unrelated matter.

He was living at the victim's house at the time of the incident, according to the prosecutor's office.

Ferrera was being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on $1,000,000 full cash bail set by Atlantic County Superior Court judge Raymond A. Batten, where Ferrera has since remained.
