GLOUCESTER TWP. -- Authorities in Gloucester Township have made three arrests for driving while intoxicated over a summer weekend.

Gloucester Township Police arrested three people between July 14 and 17 on charges of driving while intoxicated.

Officers made the arrests in various roads of the township, and all of the people were processed and released pending court action.

Police are reminding drivers to be safe when celebrating summer festivities to avoid getting behind the wheel while drunk.

Gloucester Township Police will continue to vigorously enforce laws related to driving while impaired and are working to reduce the number of impaired driving injuries and deaths, whether alcohol or drugs are involved.

"Drunk drivers not only put themselves in danger, but they threaten everyone who shares the roadway," Gloucester Township Police Department Services Division Commander Captain Anthony Minosse said.
