Awards honor extraordinary active duty first responders
PHILADELPHIA -- The National Liberty Museum, 321 Chestnut St., is seeking nominees for its 2016 Awards of Valor ceremony, which takes place on Oct. 6. Now in its 11th season, the Awards of Valor, presented by the local Chevrolet dealers honors extraordinary active duty police officers, police detectives, K-9 units, firefighters and fire police, and other emergency responders from the Greater Philadelphia region who are local heroes and role models. The museum is inviting all citizens, police and fire chiefs, community activists, and town administrators to share the stories of their local heroes so that they have a chance to be recognized at the National Liberty Museum's annual Awards of Valor ceremony.
The Awards of Valor recipients have stories that are gripping and inspirational, representing the very best of what Chevrolet considers "Everyday Heroes." The honorees epitomize the legion of the region's first responders and law enforcement heroes and heroines who protect us all with their bravery, valor and spirit. The stories of Awards of Valor winners will be displayed in the National Liberty Museum's conflict to harmony gallery for one year, presenting a visual and captivating Awards of Valor exhibit for all the public to see.
The National Liberty Museum is the only museum in the country dedicated to advancing liberty by fostering strong character and civic engagement. Each year, visitors of the National Liberty Museum are inspired by its unique 78 exhibits and are given the chance to have a uniquely reflective experience through its collection of glass art.
