Kennedy chief medical officer recognized by Philadelphia Business Journal
VOORHEES -- Kennedy Health's Chief Medical Officer H. Timothy Dombrowski, DO, MPH, FACOI, FACP, was honored by the Philadelphia Business Journal (PBJ) at the organization's annual Health Care Innovator Awards event held in Philadelphia on Oct. 20.
H. Timothy Dombrowski Dombrowski was one of seven "Doctors of Distinction" honored, winning the Community Service Award. The PBJ editorial team chose this year's winners following a comprehensive search for Philadelphia area doctors who excel both in and out of the hospital. The Community Service Award recognizes a physician who provides pro bono patient medical care services for people in need.
Known as a superb community member, clinician and educator, Dombrowski has earned the respect of his colleagues and patients through his integrity, strong work ethic, and commitment to bettering the health status of the community at large. His impressive volunteer career began in 1971, when he served in the U.S. Peace Corps for two years as a high school science school teacher in Malaysia.
Following medical school, Dombrowski served as director of Kennedy Memorial Hospital's University Medical Clinic in Stratford, from 1988-1995. There, area patients received needed care - even if uninsured - provided by Internal Medicine Residents supervised by Dombrowski. From 1998-2006, Dombrowski served as attending physician at Project Hope in Camden, an inner-city men's shelter. From 2010-2014, he volunteered as clinic director of the Camden Saturday Health Clinic, a medical student-run provider of primary health services in Camden that assists uninsured patients. In 2011, when Hurricane Irene struck, Dombrowski took a leadership role, assisting Kennedy in providing medical care to South Jersey residents temporarily housed at Rowan University during the crisis.
A 1981 graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dombrowski earned his master's degree in public health (MPH) in 2008 from UMDNJ-SOM (now RowanSOM). He is also board certified in internal medicine with additional certifications in geriatrics and critical care. Dombrowski resides with his family in Voorhees.
