Edmond Brown, Jr. allegedly had a loaded .357 Magnum in his pickup truck.
CAMDEN -- The Camden City man shot by a Haddon Township police officer during a traffic stop last month allegedly had a fully-loaded .357 Magnum handgun with him at the time, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.
Edmond Brown, Jr., 38, was stopped on the morning of Oct. 29 near the border of Camden City and Haddon Township. Authorities said he fled the scene and crashed his pickup truck into a parked car, which led to a tussle between Brown and an unidentified Haddon Township police office.

On Wednesday, the prosecutor's office revealed that a search of Brown's truck turned up the loaded handgun and additional ammunition inside his vehicle. He is now facing charges of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon by certain persons not to have weapons.
Bail was set at $100,000 with a 10-percent option.
The incident remains under investigation by the Camden County Prosecutor's Office, which said Thursday that it would not be releasing additional information.
According to previous reports, the officer involved in the shooting had been placed on administrative leave while the prosecutor's office and the attorney general's office conducts a use-of-force investigation.
