COLLINGSWOOD -- Authorities in Camden County are investigating an alleged mortgage scam that cost at least one local resident their home following a fraudulent loan modification deal.
Mount Laurel man Scott Feltman, 42, has been charged with one count of third-degree theft by deception. Authorities say Feltman signed a contract with a person and agreed to work as a mortgage broker.

Operating as Baymar Capital Funding LLC, Feltman took money from the victim for more than two years, but none of the funds were ever put toward the victim's mortgage and they were eventually evicted, authorities said.
Earlier this year, Feltman pleaded guilty to theft by deception as a result of similar scams. According to the Burlington County Times, he took approximately $130,000 from 75 people in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Detectives believe more people could have done dealings with Feltman or Baymar Capital. Readers with information regarding this incident or other fraudulent activity are asked to contact Camden County Prosecutor's Office Sergeant Michael Molle at 856-225-8674.
