The Camden start-up donated over 21,000 servings of hot cereal

CAMDEN -- The Soulfull Project, a new Camden-based public benefit corporation, delivered the company's first donation to the Food Bank of South Jersey on Nov. 15. More than 21,000 servings (360 cases) of hot cereal was delivered to the Pennsauken facility as part of The Soulfull Project's mission to combat hunger in the local community through sales of hot cereal.

From the 21,000 servings, approximately 8,000 servings will be donated as a result of The Soulfull Project's sales since August and an additional 13,000 servings will be donated as an in-kind donation and token of gratitude to the Food Bank of South Jersey, The Soulfull Project's first community partner.

The Soulfull Project's Multi Grain Hot Cereal cups are available on the company's website and in 14 Wegmans locations across New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania. The four varieties - Cinnamon Spice, Blueberry Almond, Brown Sugar Pecan and Tart Cherry -- are Non-GMO, do not contain artificial ingredients and are each under 12 grams of sugar. The cereal is made with nutrient dense ingredients -- such as steel cut oats, rye, quinoa, flax and chia.

The Soulfull Project is founded by four Campbell Soup Company industry veterans -- a chef, food scientist, marketer and designer -- who wanted to make wholesome food available to everyone, especially those in need. The combined idea of real food accessibility and community service is the foundation of The Soulfull Project's mission. The project was inspired by families across the country who are trying to eat well, but often struggle just to put food on the table. After meeting with several of these families, the founders made a promise to do something significant to help improve access to nourishing food and find a way to contribute in their own communities.

The Soulfull Project is a public benefit corporation whose mission is to make wholesome, nourishing food accessible to all and increase community engagement. The initial product -- a hot cereal line -- is available at 14 regional Wegmans locations. For every serving that is purchased, one serving will be donated to The Food Bank of South Jersey, Philabundance or the Community Food Bank of New Jersey. Information about The Soulfull Project is available at www.thesoulfullproject.com.
