N.J. man charged in crash that killed Berlin woman

Authorities have charged a Haddon Township man with first-degree death by auto in connection with a fatal accident in September.

AUDUBON -- Authorities have charged a Haddon Township man with first-degree death by auto in connection with a fatal accident in September, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

Ethan Albino, 26, was intoxicated when he failed to stop at a red light while traveling north on Kings Highway shortly after 5 a.m. on Sept. 26, officials said.

He crashed into a car driven by Julianne Mazzarella, 33, of Berlin, as she was traveling west on the White Horse Pike.

Mazzarella died at the scene. Albino was transported to Cooper University Hospital for his injuries.

Toxicology tests showed Albino's blood-alcohol content was 0.12 percent, according to the prosecutor's office. The legal limit is 0.08

Albino was also charged with two counts of third-degree assault by auto for injuries to his passengers, a 26-year-old Cherry Hill man and a 25-year-old Haddon Township man.

Albino surrendered at Audubon Police headquarters Monday after authorities notified his attorney that he was being charged.

Bail was set at $150,000.
