CAMDEN -- The Camden County Prosecutor's Office and Lawnside Police are asking for the public's help identifying a group who they say attempted to rob a Home Depot and left an employee unconscious after a struggle.
On Friday, around 11 a.m., a man and two women made a stop at Home Depot on the White Horse Pike, authorities said. They said the group gathered power tools in a shopping cart and took the cart through the store's garden center, which connects to the parking lot. Police reported that the trio then began cutting a hole in the fence in an attempt to steal the tools.
A female employee confronted the man and a struggle began, police said. According to police, the struggle left the Home Depot employee unconscious on the ground. She was later taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation, and her status is unknown at this time, they said.
Police said the group then fled on foot, empty-handed.
The man is described as a Hispanic, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, and between 150 to 180 pounds. At the time of the attempted robbery, he was wearing a light colored hooded sweatshirt and dark colored pants, police said.
Anyone with information related to this incident should contact Camden County Prosecutor's Office Detective Vince McCalla at 856-225-8569 or Lawnside Police Officer Rodney Banks at 856-573-6205.
