Undercover officers posed as "johns" responding to online advertisements.
CAMDEN COUNTY -- Law enforcement officials arrested 9 women who allegedly offered sex for money, plus a another woman and a motel employee, during a series of stings in Camden County Thursday.
Bellmawr police, in a statement, called the operation a "proactive prostitution enforcement effort" in which officers found the women based on their alleged online advertisements and then posed as "johns."
Also involved in the stings were officers from Brooklawn, Gloucester City, Mt. Ephraim, Runnemede and the Camden County prosecutor's office, according to the statement.
Bellmawr police said officers responded to the online postings or ads and scheduled meetings with each of the 10 women. When they met a woman at a predetermined locations, which was usually listed in the ad, they would agree on a sexual act for money and the officer would give the woman money. At that point, the woman would be arrested, police said.

A Bellmawr police sergeant said Sunday he couldn't give any additional details other than what was in the statement. Police have not released any of the names of those charged or the locations where they met the women.
Of the nine prostitution arrests, seven were in Bellmawr, one was in Gloucester City and one in Runnemede.
In Bellmawr, a motel employee also got charged in the investigation. Police said the worker at an undisclosed motel noticed undercover officers in the parking lot and called the woman's room, while the officer was there, to warn her not to make the deal.
The employee was charged with obstruction and motel management was advised of her alleged behavior, police said.
Another woman in Bellmawr was arrested in the sting, but charged only with a drug possession charge.
All were released pending court dates except for two women who had warrants. They were unable to post bail and were lodged at the Camden County Jail.
