Lance James served two tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.
CLEMENTON -- Camden County authorities are still searching for a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served two tours of duty in the Middle East and hasn't been seen since early December.
Lance James, who turned 29 earlier this month, was last seen at his Clementon apartment on Dec. 2, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.
Family members are also offering a reward of nearly $4,000 for information that leads to the location of the missing man.
"Eighteen days and nothing at all still," sister Jessica Hassan told NJ Advance Media on Tuesday.
James went to the Hide-A-Way Tavern on Dec. 2 and left after getting into an altercation with another patron that night. He was escorted out -- sans jacket and cell phone, family said -- and Clementon police suggested he head home. James, who doesn't own a vehicle, left the bar near the White Horse Pike and headed off toward his home near Clementon Park.
Hassan said that surveillance video footage revealed he was within a block of his home. He hasn't been into work nor called out of any shifts, family previously said.
New Jersey State Police are now leading a search of three area lakes for possible clues.
James, who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 2007 and served one year in Iraq and another year Afghanistan before leaving the service in 2012 and returning home to Clementon. He also has a 5-year-old daughter who lives with her mother.
James is approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, 180 pounds with brown hair, a red/brown beard and tattoos. He was last seen wearing a white-colored undershirt, blue jeans and Timberland boots.
A GoFundMe page created to raise funds for a reward that will be offered in exchange for information on James' location stood at $3,840 as of Tuesday afternoon.
That amount has been raised in the past four days and family can be contacted via the webpage. Readers with additional information should contact Clementon police at 856-783-2759.
"We are hopeful that offering a monetary reward for his whereabouts will help bring forth information that has not yet been provided," the GoFundMe page reads.
