Victim Amber Dudley of Camden County died hours after being wounded during a robbery attempt in East Trenton on Nov. 30.
TRENTON -- Authorities have arrested two women on charges related to the November killing of a South Jersey woman who was using the rideshare service Lyft.
Amber Dudley, 27, of Collingswood, died at a Trenton hospital hours after being wounded during a robbery attempt in East Trenton on Nov. 30.
On Thursday at about 6:20 a.m., federal agents apprehended Kasey DeZolt, 32, in Morrisville, Pa., the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said. Delzolt lives in Morrisville.
Mercer County Homicide Task Force detectives took Dominique Richter, 31, of Hamilton into custody at their Trenton office on Wednesday.
Both women are charged as being an accomplice to felony murder, robbery and firearm charges, the prosecutor's office said.
Richter is being held on $1 million bail in Mercer County, and Delzolt, who was being held in Bucks County, Pa. Thursday, will have the same initial bail when she is returned to New Jersey.
Exactly how the two women are alleged to be involved in the crime was not disclosed. The prosecutor's office said no other information about the case was being discussed Thursday as the investigation continued.
Dudley was a passenger in a vehicle driving under the rideshare service Lyft that was apparently targeted in the area of Mechanics and East Trenton avenues the night she was killed.
Two other people were also in the car - a man and woman, plus the male Lyft driver.
Authorities have said a gunman got in the vehicle in an attempt to rob people and Dudley was shot during the confrontation.
The Lyft driver sped away and, because he was apparently unfamiliar with the area, pulled over in front of the Trenton Police Department headquarters on North Clinton Avenue when he saw patrol cars, police said. Officers found a wounded Dudley and called for an ambulance.
What Dudley and the the other passengers were doing in Trenton has not been discussed by investigators.
Dudley's family started a GoFundMe page seeking to cover burial costs and raised over $4,000 after setting a $2,000 goal.
