Raymond McNeil allegedly tried to pass off the cordless drill as a handgun.
WINSLOW TWP. -- A Sicklerville man who allegedly tried to rob a Winslow bank while brandishing a power drill was sentenced to two decades behind bars, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.
Raymond McNeil, 42, was previously found guilty of armed robbery and two weapons offenses for allegedly robbing a Wells Fargo bank, located along Sicklerville Road in Winslow Township, on Nov. 3, 2014. The sentence was imposed Friday by Superior Court Judge Steven J. Polansky.
According to the prosecutor's office, evidence and testimony presented by investigators allegedly revealed McNeil "brandished a power drill at one of the bank tellers while demanding money and then fled on foot without any proceeds."

A police K9 unit was called to the scene and reportedly found McNeil in an abandoned house located in a neighborhood across the street from the bank he'd just attempted to rob. According to previous reports, police found clothes, a mask and a cordless drill wrapped in a towel.
Under the No Early Release Act, McNeil must serve at least 17 years of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
