Rail traffic across the Delair Bridge was suspended on Monday.
PENNSAUKEN TWP. -- Rail traffic across the Delair Bridge has been suspended due to damaged cables on the span that crosses the Delaware River.
Conrail spokesman Jocelyn Hill said Monday afternoon that the bridge connecting Pennsauken and Philadelphia was stuck in the upright position.
"We can't have people out there right now," Hill said of high winds that both damaged the cables in question and kept workers from fixing them. "Maritime traffic can get through, but we're not able to do any rail traffic."

Hill added that Conrail, which owns the railroad span, hopes to have workers out first thing Tuesday.
An NJ Transit spokeswoman added that the Atlantic City Rail Line has been suspended between 30th Street Station, in Philadelphia, and Cherry Hill. PATCO is cross-honoring tickets and passes, the spokeswoman added.
