Two men were arrested in connection with the anti-narcotics effort.

CAMDEN -- A "significant" anti-narcotics raid Thursday morning resulted in two arrests and the alleged seizure of loaded weapons, heroin and cocaine, Camden County Police Department officials say.

A search warrant execution, which was in collaboration with the state Attorney General's Office, HIDTA Narco-Gang Unit and the New Jersey State Police, was carried out at at 1106 Baring St., near Broadway and Chestnut streets.

"Too many people are dying from the violence associated with drugs and by the narcotics themselves as overdoses continue to rise," CCPD Chief Scott Thomson said. "We will continue our coordinated effort from every level of law enforcement to protect neighborhoods and the people of Camden and the region."

Arrested were Camden men Jamaal Bailey, 36, and Javon Bailey, 26. According to police, the items seized in the raid included a loaded Hi-Point 9mm handgun, a loaded .357 Taurus handgun, 1,050 bags of heroin and a little more than 400 grams of unpackaged cocaine.

Jamaal Bailey was charged with two counts of possession of a weapon during a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) offense, two counts of possession of a CDS with intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school, conspiracy, maintaining a CDS production facility and certain persons not to have weapons.

'Operation Inferno' targets Camden, Philly dealers

Javon Bailey was charged with two counts of possession of a CDS, two counts of possession with intent to distribute, conspiracy and possession of an imitation CDS with intent to distribute.

Both men have been sent to the Camden County Jail ahead of detention hearings.

"We're absolutely committed to these collaborative law enforcement efforts in Camden aimed at taking down the most prolific drug dealers, who are fueling gun violence in the city as well as the epidemic of heroin addiction that is ravaging communities throughout South Jersey," said Attorney General Christopher S. Porrino, who appeared alongside Camden County law enforcement officials late last year to announce the results of "Operation Inferno."

CCPD officials said this week that Thursday's raid was a result of that anti-drug trafficking push, which resulted in the seizure of kilograms of drugs and 15 arrests.
