Lois Housel is the local liaison for members and prospective members
The New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO) has appointed Lois Housel as the membership coordinator for the NJAWBO South Jersey Region. Housel, a resident of Haddon Township, is a luxury and corporate travel advisor with SmartFlyer, in Philadelphia. As the membership coordinator, she is the local liaison for members and prospective members.
At 18, after a trip to Hawaii and another to Europe, Lois Housel discovered she had a passion for travel. So, after graduating from the Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, she gave up her idea of a career in music and joined American Airlines. Then, after 29 years with the airline, Housel jettisoned herself into becoming a full-fledged travel consultant with Monarch Travel in 2002, and in 2014, she joined SmartFlyer.
"A friend recommended NJAWBO and told me how much she benefited from being a member," states Housel. "From my first meeting, I could see the like-minded desire of the women attending. They were interested in personal and professional development, just like me. The 2016 NJAWBO annual conference, with business owners from across the state, was chock full of so many business nuggets and candid, inspiring testimonials that I knew I had to join. Several of the successful business women even volunteered to have a conversation at another time to help me with ideas and encouragement. The collaborative culture of those moments sealed the deal for me. I'm very thankful to be part of NJAWBO!" You can learn more about Lois at www.njawbo.org/members/?id=41420731.
NJAWBO's South Jersey Region is generally comprised of business owners from Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties. Lunch and evening events are currently being planned in Burlington and Camden counties. All events are open to members and nonmembers from across the state. Visit www.njawbo.org/events for upcoming events.
