CHERRY HILL TWP. -- Monster-Mania Con always draws thousands of fans of horror films, television and memorabilia to the Crowne Plaza Hotel, but organizers said this year's event filled the hotel to capacity.
For part of the afternoon, the was so full that no one was being allowed in until other attendees left the building.
What was drawing the record crowds to Monster-Mania Con 36? It might have been the actors who were signing autographs and taking photos, including John Cusack, Louise Fletcher, Wilford Brimley, and, from the show "Stranger Things," Caleb McLaughlin and Gaten Matarazzo.
It also may have been the packed vendor fair, where artists offered to "draw you as a zombie" and special effects companies promoted their work making actors look ghoulish.
Many also came in costume and spent much of the afternoon posing for photographs with other attendees in the lobby.
The event continues Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
