N.J. man arrested in 'random' shooting outside Philly strip club

Suspect opened fire from a nearby building under construction; no one was injured.

GLOUCESTER TWP. -- A man sought in connection with a shooting outside a Philadelphia strip club was arrested Thursday in Camden County, township police said.

Lawrence Mitchell, 29, of Gloucester Township, allegedly used an AR-15 rifle to fire shots into the parking lot of Delilah's Gentlemen's Club on Monday, according to 6ABC.

A woman walking to her vehicle was nearly hit by the gunfire as two rounds struck her truck.

Police told the TV station that Mitchell allegedly fired the shots from a nearby building under construction and that he tried to shoot a second person.

Surveillance camera footage of a vehicle license plate led authorities to their suspect, 6ABC reported.

Gloucester Township Police Special Response Team arrested Mitchell at his home without incident, police said.

Investigators believe the shooting may have been random.

Mitchell was charged with two counts of attempted murder and sent to Camden County Jail to await extradition to Philadelphia. He is scheduled for a detention hearing Monday morning in Camden, according to Philly.com.
