Rutgers Day was celebrated on all three campuses
CAMDEN -- Rutgers Day was celebrated on the Camden Campus Saturday with hands-on activities, demonstrations and performances.
The day kicked off shorty after 10 a.m. with group tai chi on the grass by the Big R Stage in front of the Paul Robeson Library. Rutgers--Camden Chancellor Phoebe Haddon was all smiles as she followed the moves of the instructor with other faculty and guests.
Throughout the 6-hour event, members of the Sikh Student Association demonstrated how to tie a Sikh turban as they fitted both children and adults. Other popular activities included yoga instruction with the health sciences program, "Real vs. Fake News" trivia, and a Lightsaber Workout.
Several performances highlighted the day, including the Rutgers String Ensemble, a Kung Fu demonstration, and the Rutgers-Camden Beatlemaniacs, who played songs from The Beatles' classic album "Revolver."
More than 100,000 people attended the state university's three campuses to take party in the annual spring event.
