Megan Flaherty rolled up to her prom in a hearse and a prop coffin. Watch video
PENNSAUKEN TWP. -- Megan Flaherty, 17, rolled up to her junior prom Saturday in a prop coffin in the back of a hearse. Her classmates' shouts of surprise are audible in the video her mom shot of her big prom entrance.
Flaherty said she thought the entrance to the Pennsauken High School's prom was fun, but it also reflects something about her and her future plans. Flaherty said she has known for a year and a half that she wants to be a funeral director, like her mentor and family friend, Dennis McGee.
Photographs of Flaherty's arrival made the rounds on social media, with some loving her creativity and joking that it was a "drop dead gorgeous" entrance. But some commented that it was insensitive and tasteless.
What do you think? Let us know in our poll.
Cay: I admire her creativity. Death is a natural process and I respect anyone who is so comfortable with it. Great way to make a Grand Entrance Miss Flaherty!!! The best of success in your career.
My Truth: That girl has a problem. What if someone at the prom recently lost a loved one and it got them upset? That was a stupid stunt and not funny.
oldandgrouchy: Good for her. She made an entrance, didn't hurt anyone and looks like a nice kid. Certainly not my taste but that's what makes the world go round.
