The Paulsboro shooting stemmed from an apparent drug deal, officials said.
PAULSBORO -- A Mount Laurel man who walked into borough hall suffering from two gunshot wounds to the groin was shot in an apparent drug deal gone wrong, police said.
The victim walked into the municipal building around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday and collapsed on the second floor, according to Paulsboro Police Chief Vernon Marino.
"We went up there and found him laying on the ground," Marino said. "He was bleeding pretty bad through his pants."
He was transported to Cooper University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
He was able to assist police before he was transported to Cooper.

"The victim was still somewhat conscious when we were speaking with him," Marino said. "He was able to give us a description of the suspects."
The man apparently traveled from Mount Laurel on Tuesday morning and met two men on West Buck Street, Marino said.
One of the men got in his car and they drove around the block. An argument ensued and they exited the vehicle. One of the men pulled a small-caliber handgun and shot the victim, Marino said.
He got back into his car and drove to the municipal building, which also houses the police department, on Delaware Street.
The suspects were described as black males in their mid- to late-20s.
