Thieves distract store owner during $1.2K heist, police say

Gloucester Township police are asking for the public's help with identifying suspects in a Nov. 28 heist of more than $1,000 from a cash register.

GLOUCESTER TWP. -- Township police are asking for the public's help with identifying suspects in a Nov. 28 heist of more than $1,000 from a cash register at a Gloucester Premium Outlets store.

Police said the three suspects were seen by surveillance camera through the store's window "pacing back and forth for several minutes" and waiting for customers to leave.

Then, at 8:08 p.m., the female suspect allegedly distracted the store clerk by luring them to the back of the store. At that point, a male suspect went to work behind the counter and allegedly took $1,200 from the cash register, police said.

In a video distributed by Gloucester Township police, the female suspect is black and appears to be wearing blue jeans, a dark-colored jacket, large hoop earrings with her hair pulled back into a tight knot. The first male suspect is black and was wearing a gray hoodie, had short hair and a beard. The second suspect who is also black was seen behind the counter was wearing a dark-colored jacket, a baseball-style cap with a bent brim and had a beard.

Video of the incident can be seen on the police department's Facebook page.
