WATERFORD TWP. -- A township man was charged with distribution of child pornography after he allegedly uploaded and shared files from an IP address of a home where he was house sitting, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.
Anthony Melora Jr., 27, of Waterford Township, was charged with distribution of child pornography after he allegedly uploaded and shared filed while house sitting in Cherry Hill, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office. On Monday, authorities said they executed a search warrant at a home in Cherry Hill after they discovered files containing child pornography were shared from an IP address associated with the home.
However, no files containing child pornography were found on any devices at the residence, according to the prosecutor's office.
After further investigation, police said they found that the son of a family friend -- identified as Anthony Melora Jr., 27 -- had been watching the home while the residents were away. Melora allegedly was using the home's internet service when detectives monitoring a peer-to-peer file-sharing program first noticed the files being uploaded and shared in November, according to the prosecutor's office.
Detectives went to Waterford and found Melora at his home. Authorities said they found images and videos of child pornography after searching his computer.
Melora was arrested and charged with one count each of distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography. His bail was set at $150,000 full cash.
In 2015, the High Tech Crimes Unit of the Camden County Prosecutor's Office has charged more than 30 people related to the possession or distribution of child pornography.
