Cherry Hill's Dylan Marcus, 13, will compete on tonight's episode of 'Chopped Junior' on The Food Network, reports say.
Young cooks from New Jersey and the Philadelphia area are taking over The Food Network's "Chopped Junior," according to philly.com.
Ellie Kuhnle, a sixth-grader at Bridge Valley Elementary School in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, and Henry McDaniel, seventh-grader at Penn Alexander School in West Philadelphia, both won their episodes in October and November, according to reports.
Tonight, Dylan Marcus, 13, of Cherry Hill, will get his shot at the prize money on "Chopped Junior," reports said.
The show challenges boys and girls aged 9 to 15 to quickly cook a unique dish from a basket full of both mystery ingredients and common pantry items, reports said.
On each episode, four contestants create dishes that are judged in three rounds and the winner of each show receives a $10,000 prize, reports said.
Dylan, the oldest of three boys, said he home-school's himself through South Jersey's Sudbury School, according to reports.
When he was just 3 years old, Dylan created a snack out of cereal clusters and melted his own chocolate for the treat, reports said.
According to Food Network, Dylan and tonight's other three contestants will be faced with a basket containing shellfish and a dried seafood snack in the appetizer basket, and cereal and a "beautiful cut of meat" in the entree basket.
Watch Dylan and his competitors on "Chopped Junior" on The Food Network tonight at 8 p.m.
