Three stores in Gloucester and Washington townships were robbed in December, police said.

GLOUCESTER TWP. -- Authorities are investigating three similar burglaries reported in December.

Police in Gloucester and Washington townships said all three convenience stores were robbed between Dec. 2 and 30, by suspects brandishing knives and wearing masks.

The first robbery was reported at the 7-Eleven on Church Street in Gloucester Township's Blackwood section on Dec. 2.

Police said a thin black man wearing a long black coat, dark pants and blue latex glove on his right hand came into the store and asked for cigarettes. He then reportedly took out a large knife and demanded money.

Two weeks later, the same store was robbed by three people wearing masks. Police said they also demanded money while brandishing a large knife.

Authorities believe those two robberies could also be connected to a similar crime reported in Washington Township on Dec. 30. Police said two suspects wearing masks robbed the Nik Nak Store on Woodbury Turnersville Road at knifepoint.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Gloucester Township Police at 856-228-4500, the GTPD anonymous tip line at 856-842-5560 or Washington Township Police Detective Fred Volpe at 856-589-0330 or fjvolpe@pd.twp.washington.nj.us.
