Saladworks, which originated in Cherry Hill Mall, is planning to open additional locations in the South Jersey area this year.
Saladworks, which originated in Cherry Hill Mall 29 years ago, is planning to add five to 10 more New Jersey locations to the now 110 restaurants in the country this year, according to courierpostonline.com.
Franchisee Jim Dooney, a South Jersey native, and Saladworks CEO Paul Steck are part of the team charged with giving the chain restaurant a new look and updated dining experience. And since Cherry Hill is where it all began, they feel the mall is a good place to start, reports said.
Steck said the company is "pretty comfortable in South Jersey."
"We've got a lot of happy franchisees there who have made a lot of money," he said. "I will tell you, it's going to be a prime area of focus for us. We have locations in Texas and North Carolina and elsewhere, but the strategy for us going forward is, let's grow from a position of strength. South Jersey really likes Saladworks, so let's concentrate there."
Steck said there are no new South Jersey locations confirmed yet, but there is strong interest in Medford and Mullica Hill, as well as Ocean City, Cape May Courthouse and May's Landing.
