CAMDEN -- The Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey will hold model auditions for its signature fundraiser, the 2016 American Girl Doll Fashion Show, beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, at the St. Charles Borromeo Church in Sicklerville. Auditions are open to local girls at least 6 years of age who wear either a size 6X or a size 10. Anyone interested must fill out an application ahead of time. The deadline to apply is 6 Jan. 20.
Now in its 19th year, the American Girl Fashion Show will take place Saturday, March 5 and Sunday, March 6, at the Tavistock Country Club in Haddonfield. Five shows are scheduled and will feature more than 100 young girls from throughout the South Jersey and Philadelphia region as they model American Girl Fashions while accompanied with a matching American Girl Doll. The American Girl Fashion Show provides an opportunity for young girls and their families to support the Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey, a home-away-from-home for families with seriously ill children.
The event has become an annual tradition for many families in the Greater Philadelphia and South Jersey region. In addition to seeing the girls walk the runway carrying their dolls dressed in matching, historical outfits, attendees are also treated to refreshments, a doll hair salon, photo booth for girls to take pictures with their friends and their dolls, party favors, gift tables with American Girl memorabilia, raffle baskets and door prizes.
Being a part of the Fashion Show is a fun experience for all who participate in this annual program which directly benefits the families that have a need to stay at the Ronald House in Camden. Attendees are encouraged to bring a donation of a Target, Walmart, or ShopRite Gift Card. All donations will directly benefit the many families staying at the Ronald House.
