Lions Club honored by district governor
The Lions Club International District Governor 16L, Albert Olizi, recently attended the regular monthly meeting of the Cherry Hill-Pennsauken Korean Lions Club. He praised the club for its use of publicity and for its sharing of service activity information with other clubs.
Olizi presented the president, secretary and treasurer of the Cherry Hill-Pennsauken Lions Club, with the Multiple District 16 Governors Pin. Olizi cited the club for its many activities in the areas of sight conservation and memberships.
Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization. Its 1.4 million members are dedicated to bettering the quality of life for the handicapped, the poor, the sick and the aged. A Lions Club is a group of civic-minded men and women who have banded together to to give their time, energy and resources in service to others.
Local Lions Club programs include sight conservation, hearing and speech conservation, diabetes awareness, youth outreach, international relations, environmental issues, and many other programs.
The LIONS, an acronym, also stands for Liberty, Intelligence, Our Nations' Safety.
