The Winslow man was spotted by police once they arrived at the scene.

LINDENWOLD -- Borough police say an alleged burglar accessed a local business via the roof, but couldn't get out until police arrived at the scene.

Martin A. Thomas, 39, of Winslow, was arrested after police responded to an alarm activation at the Quick Food Store located along North Berlin Road. When police arrived, they apparently saw Thomas inside the closed grocery store and "actively trying to force his way out of the store."

Thomas was arrested at the scene without incident. According to Lindenwold police, the accused burglar entered the store from the roof and allegedly took money from the cash register.

However, Thomas was apparently unable to find a way out of the store and was locked inside until police arrived. Further, he apparently confessed to detectives his role in four other Lindenwold commercial burglaries and a criminal mischief incident.

Thomas was sent to the Camden County Jail in lieu of bail.
