Symphony flutist alleges wrongful termination in lawsuit, reports say

A lawsuit filed by symphony flutist also claims hostile workplace, reports say

BRIDGETON -- A fired flutist is suing the Bay-Atlantic Symphony alleging a hostile workplace and wrongful termination, the Daily Journal reports.

Ronna Ayscue, of Clementon, was a flutist for the Bridgeton-area symphony for almost 30 years, according to reports, until she was fired in December 2014.

Ayscue claims in the lawsuit that the symphony's conductor, Jed Gaylin, would "demean and ridicule" the flutist's performances during live shows and rehearsals.

The lawsuit -- which was filed in July 2015 -- also alleges that Gaylin used false information to back his action in firing her.

Notice of the suit was served Jan. 19, according to reports.

Ayscue is seeking compensatory, punitive damages, lawyer and legal costs, reports say.
