A customer at the Cherry Hill location found something that didn't belong in trail mix. Watch video
CHERRY HILL TWP. -- A Whole Foods customer claims to have bitten down on an animal bone he apparently found inside a bag of "Berry Bounty" trail mix recently purchased at the grocery store's township location, according to Chasing News.
According to the report, customer Tom Lukas was eating handfuls of the product when he pulled something out of his mouth that apparently wasn't an almond, raisin, cranberry, cashew, blueberry, walnut or raspberry.
Photos of the alleged bone published by the news outlet as part of its report show an object smaller than a quarter.
A zoological paleopathology fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison was contacted to examine the object and felt it could have come from a small animal, but not a mouse or rat.
According to the report, Whole Foods in a statement declined to comment on the claim and said the news outlet withheld lab examinations of the object. Chasing News contends it send photos and expert testimony regarding the alleged bone. A complaint has also been filed with the Camden County Board of Health.
