Camden man killed in 4th fatal shooting since last week

This is the fourth fatal shooting in Camden since Friday.

CAMDEN -- A 34-year-old city man was killed late Monday in the the fourth fatal shooting to occur in Camden City since Friday.

Stanley Brown was found by Camden County Police Department (CCPD) officers shortly before 11 p.m. near the 400 block of South 30th Street suffering from gunshot wounds and lying on the ground.

A ShotSpotter activation reporting multiple gunshots alerted police to the incident. Brown was taken to Cooper University Hospital, where he died just before 11:30 p.m. as a result his injuries, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

Authorities continue to investigate Brown's slaying and no arrests had been made as of Tuesday afternoon. According to information from the prosecutor's office, Brown's death would be the 21st Camden City homicide of 2016.

A 24-year-old East Orange man was killed Friday night  on the 2800 block of North Constitution Road. The prosecutor's office on Tuesday released video stemming from the shooting as the investigation into the fatal shooting of James Rhodes continues.

Curtis Chambers, 41, of Camden, was killed just after midnight Sunday morning on the 1200 block of Whitman Avenue, and then hours later around 5 p.m., 27-year-old Gregory Cleveland was killed near the Centennial Village apartment complex.
