The event at Cooper River Park begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

PENNSAUKEN TWP. -- A rally set for Wednesday night and organized by Camden County will aid the victims of the Orlando night club shooting that left 49 people dead.

"March for Love," a rally in memory of the lives lost in the June 12 Pulse nightclub shooting, will begin at Cooper River Park.

"Join us as we march to honor the victims of the Orlando shooting and celebrate the diversity of Camden County," said Camden County Freeholder Jeff Nash. "This attack was not just against the LGBT community, but an act of hate against our overall community."

Shooting victim 'guilty' for surviving

Organizers hope the event sends a message of love and equality for future generations. Gunman Omar Mateen's motive for the mass shooting at the gay nightclub has been characterized as a hate crime and act of terrorism.

Organizers ask those planning to attend to wear clothing in shades of rainbow colors to "reflect the diversity of our community" as well as construct signs, banners and personalized t-shirts to "honor the victims."

Further, "March for Love" t-shirts will be available for purchase. Proceeds of those sales will benefit the One Orlando fund created by the city of Orlando to aid the victims of the shooting and their family.

The rally at Cooper River Park's Jack Curtis Stadium is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. It is located at 5300 North Park Drive, in Pennsauken. A march along North Park Drive will follow the rally.
