Joanne Clement receives NJASBO Distinguished Service Award
Clementon School District Business Administrator (BA)/Board Secretary and Stratford resident Joanne Clement recently was honored by the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials (NJASBO) with a 2016 Distinguished Service Award for her long-term, continuous exemplary service.
As part of the award, Clement had the honor of presenting a $1,000 scholarship from NJASBO to student Jillian Dilworth.
Among just six Distinguished Service Awardees statewide, Clement has served as BA/Board Secretary for the Clementon School District since 2004. Prior to that, she served in the same role for the Woodlynne School District starting in 2000, and as secretary/bookkeeper for the Lindenwold School District from 1996 until 2000.
Clement received a bachelor's degree from Thomas Edison State University.
Clement is an active volunteer; she is a member of the Chews United Methodist Church, where she serves on the committees overseeing finance, the church nursery, and outreach, which distributes clothes and food to the homeless in Camden. On weekends, Clement volunteers at Kennedy Hospital's VITAS Inpatient Hospice Unit, and she also makes quilts for veterans in hospice. She enjoys spending time with her husband of 40 years, three children, and six grandchildren.
