This is the second fire to strike the Short Hills Deli.

CHERRY HILL TWP. -- A two-alarm blaze that broke out early Tuesday damaged the Short Hills Deli.

Firefighters arriving at the Evesham Road delicatessen found flames on the exterior of the building that were extending inside, according to the Cherry Hill Fire Department.

According to 6ABC, the fire began around 1:45 a.m. outside the strip mall that houses the deli. Fire officials said the blaze was placed under control at 3:18 a.m. The report said the deli was the scene of a 2008 3-alarm fire sparked by a discarded cigarette.

Photos of Tuesday morning's blaze posted online by the fire department show units spraying the scene with water as flames climbed across two stories at the strip mall. Two other nearby businesses were damaged by smoke and water during the fire.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
