Police rescue unconscious N.J. man behind house after drug overdose

A 19-year-old Clayton man was rescued by authorities after a drug overdose at a weekend party, police said.

GLOUCESTER TWP. -- A 19-year-old Clayton man was rescued by authorities after a drug overdose at a weekend party, police said.

Authorities responded Sunday to a residence at North Black Horse Pike in Blackwood around 2 p.m. and found the 19-year-old unconscious and foaming at the mouth behind the house.

Officers administered Naloxone (Narcan) after observing the man's shallow breathing and pulse rate consistent with an opiate overdose, according to police.

The man responded to the Narcan and regained normal breathing and consciousness, authorities reported.
