One firefighter from Lambs Terrance was transported to a local hospital to be treated for a minor injury.
GLOUCESTER TWP. -- A house fire spotted Monday afternoon by neighbors of an Erial residence remains under investigation, township police said Monday.
Erial Fire Department and Gloucester Township police responded to the scene along the 40 block of Highland Avenue shortly after 5 p.m. for a report of a house fire.
"Some alert neighbors had saw the smoke and made contact with the homeowners. Officers and firefighters arrived on location and found heavy smoke coming from two neighboring homes," authorities said.
The residents of the home were present at the time of the fire and evacuated safely. However, one fire fighter from Lambs Terrance was transported to a local hospital to be treated for a minor injury.

Photos from the scene show the rear of the home and a shed engulfed in flames. The roadway was closed for three hours while police and fire personnel extinguished and investigated the cause of the fire.
Responding crews also included Lambs Terrace Fire Department, Chews Landing Fire Department, Blackwood Fire Department, Pine Hill Fire Department, Lindenwold Fire Department, Winslow Fire Department, Cherry Hill Rehab Fire Department Gloucester Township EMS and the Red Cross.
The blaze is currently under investigation by the Gloucester Township Police Department, the Erial Fire Department's fire marshal and Camden County Prosecutor's Office Fire Marshal.
