CAMDEN -- A young filmmaker will get probation for reportedly using a real gun as a prop during filming, according to a report by the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Ta'Quan Allen, 19, of Camden, said he was filming a movie with some friends in a vacant lot next to his house in May when police officers approached them with their guns drawn. Police saw the camera, as well as a .32-caliber revolver and thought the group was playing with the gun, according to the report.
Allen faced five years in prison on the original charge of unlawful possession of a weapon. He instead pleaded guilty to improper disposal of a firearm and will get probation.
